Public Health Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Public Health Engineer to join a well‑established, privately owned multidisciplinary consultancy in Birmingham. The role involves delivering high‑quality public health engineering designs across a variety of building services projects, working closely with mechanical, electrical, architectural and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver public health engineering designs for residential, commercial, education, industrial and mixed‑use developments.
• Create detailed 3D BIM models and construction drawings using Revit from concept through to handover.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, compliant and buildable solutions.
• Support the preparation of design documentation, calculations and specifications.
• Assist in client liaison and coordination with local authorities, developers and infrastructure providers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in public health engineering design within the building services sector.
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations and public health standards.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with engineers, architects and contractors.
