Qualified Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Qualified Practice Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Manchester. You will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality statutory accounts, tax returns and business advice.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review corporation tax and personal tax returns.
• Manage a client portfolio as the primary point of contact.
• Provide business advice and identify value‑adding opportunities.
• Assist with management accounts, VAT returns and bookkeeping when required.
• Review and support junior team members.
• Maintain strong, long‑lasting client relationships.
• Collaborate with partners and managers to ensure exceptional client service.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with significant practice experience.
• Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, corporation tax and personal tax.
• Proven ability to manage a client portfolio and build trusted relationships.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Proactive, commercial mindset with high attention to detail.
