Quantitative Developer

About the role

Engineers Gate is a quantitative investment firm focused on systematic trading in global financial markets, using statistical and machine learning models to find predictive signals in data. Its London Portfolio Management group is looking for a Quantitative Developer to build and scale the group's central infrastructure, covering both greenfield projects and enhancements to existing systems. The role sits alongside experienced quantitative developers and researchers in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and monitor the existing live trading infrastructure.
• Develop and enhance the research platform and analytics tooling.
• Work with researchers to bring new trading strategies into production.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline.
• Production-level software engineering experience in a high-quality, technology-driven environment.
• Solid understanding of algorithms, software architecture, design patterns and software engineering best practices.
• Strong numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills, comfortable with quantitative and scientific problems.
• Ability to work independently from high-level guidance and to follow best practice across the full software development life cycle.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, C++ or Java.
• Desirable: Python and/or MATLAB for numerical and scientific computing.
• Desirable: familiarity with AI agents in daily workflow, machine learning and quantitative research workflows, and exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
