Quantity Surveyor – Major Infrastructure Project

About the role

This is a full‑time Quantity Surveyor position based in Birmingham, working on a high‑value head‑house infrastructure project for a leading UK main contractor. You will play a commercial key role in delivering complex buildings that house essential systems for the site’s operation.

Key responsibilities

• Procure and manage subcontract packages.
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and budgets.
• Manage subcontractor accounts and payments.
• Handle valuations, variations and change control.
• Support preparation and agreement of final accounts.
• Identify and manage risks and opportunities.
• Provide commercial support to operational project teams.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

Required profile

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor on building or infrastructure projects.
• Background in industrial, logistics, plant or utility structures is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of the NEC contract and commercial management.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractor packages.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced project environment.
• Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree).
• Experience with MEP packages is a plus.
