RAN Optimisation Specialist – 5G (Hybrid, 12‑month contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading telecoms operator, is seeking an experienced RAN Optimisation Specialist to enhance network performance across 4G and 5G environments. The role is hybrid, based in London or Bristol, and runs for 12 months under an IR35‑compliant contract.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse UE logs, OSS KPIs and drive‑test data to pinpoint performance issues.
• Perform parameter and feature optimisation for LTE and 5G networks.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Support network trials, validation activities and KPI enhancements.
• Ensure seamless interworking between 4G and 5G (NSA/SA) architectures.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve network problems.

Required profile

• Strong background in RAN optimisation and KPI management for 4G/5G.
• Hands‑on experience with network optimisation tools and test equipment.
• Familiarity with Nokia and Ericsson RAN environments.
• Good understanding of LTE and 5G architecture, preferably VoLTE and VoNR.
• Excellent analytical abilities and stakeholder management skills.
