About the role
The School of Social Policy and Society at the University of Birmingham is seeking a Research Fellow to join CHASM, a multidisciplinary centre focused on financial security, wellbeing and inclusion. The post-holder will develop and lead high‑quality research that influences policy at national and international levels.
Key responsibilities
- Design, conduct and publish original research on financial security, wellbeing and inclusion.
- Contribute to successful funding bids and manage research projects.
- Supervise and examine PhD students and mentor junior researchers.
- Engage with policy makers, practitioners and the public through knowledge‑transfer activities.
- Provide academic leadership within CHASM, including chairing meetings and representing the centre on university committees.
Required profile
- Established national and developing international reputation in a relevant research area.
- Track record of high‑impact publications and successful grant acquisition.
- Experience supervising doctoral candidates and managing research teams.
- Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and public engagement.
