Response and Installation Officer

About the role

The Community Alarm team at Manchester City Council is seeking a Response and Installation Officer. Working on a rota, you will help vulnerable adults stay safe at home by monitoring alerts, responding to emergencies, and installing approved safety equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor activation alerts from customers' equipment and respond within service targets.
• Communicate courteously with customers, families and emergency services to assess needs and provide appropriate assistance.
• Install, maintain and collect safety equipment in customers' homes, ensuring high standards.
• Record and manage data accurately in computer systems while maintaining confidentiality.
• Gather customer feedback and contribute ideas to improve service delivery.
• Promote the service by attending meetings, forums and promotional events.

Required profile

• Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, nights and weekends on a rota.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer data entry and monitoring systems.
