Robotics Engineer – Counter-UAS Integration

About the role

We're looking for a Robotics Engineer to join our growing technical team in London and take ownership of the integration of a new counter‑UAS initiative. This role sits at the intersection of robotics, machine learning and systems engineering, and you’ll own the integration across all three. You’ll prove out the concept, build the prototype, and take it into trials, working closely with product partners and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and develop the counter‑UAS solution across robotics, machine learning and systems engineering.
• Prototype the concept and lead it through trial phases in collaboration with product partners.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure successful deployment.

Required profile

• A degree in robotics, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Strong programming skills in a low‑level language (C, C++ or Rust) and Python.
• Working understanding of modern computer vision, including object detection, tracking and real‑time model deployment.
• Hands‑on experience with state estimation and sensor fusion using techniques such as Kalman filtering, factor graphs and SLAM.
• Solid grasp of sensors and camera modelling, including distortion models.
• Self‑directed initiative and ability to research unfamiliar problems and document findings.
• Strong communication skills for working with external partners and suppliers.

• Computer vision (object detection, tracking, model training, optimisation and deployment).
• State estimation and sensor fusion (Kalman filtering, factor graphs, SLAM).
• Camera and sensor modelling.
• Control theory (PID controller design) – nice to have.
• Numerical modelling and 3D simulation – nice to have.
• RF sensing and RF‑based sensor arrays – nice to have.
