SEN Teacher – Temp to Perm, Hertfordshire

About the role
We are seeking a passionate SEN Teacher for a temporary‑to‑permanent position in a specialist setting in Hertfordshire. You will lead a small class of learners with complex needs, delivering personalised lessons that support both academic progress and personal development.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support learners in developing communication, independence, social and life skills alongside academic achievement.
- Create a positive, structured, and motivating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and families.
- Monitor, assess and celebrate learner progress and achievement.
- Contribute to EHCP targets and person‑centred planning.
- Promote outcomes that prepare learners for adulthood.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Experience working with SEND learners, ideally in specialist or post‑16 settings.
- Creative, adaptable and nurturing teaching approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high aspirations for every learner.
