SEND Operational Lead

About the role
The SEND Operational Lead will support Hackney Council in meeting its statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014. You will manage the Education, Health and Care (EHC) process, special provision and placements funded through the High Needs block, working closely with families, professionals and partner agencies.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service to children, young people and their families.
- Organise and manage SEND operations on behalf of the Council.
- Provide oversight of current and projected provision requirements for SEND.
- Implement person‑centred planning systems that keep the child’s wishes central.
- Communicate statutory processes clearly, reducing anxiety for parents and carers.
Required profile
- Experience delivering high‑quality service in a public‑sector or educational setting.
- Ability to coordinate multi‑agency partnerships and manage complex processes.
- Understanding of the Children and Families Act 2014 and related regulations.
