About the role
We are looking for a dedicated SEND & SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Manchester. The role involves providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group SEND support.
- Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs.
- Assist children with emotional and sensory regulation.
- Implement agreed behaviour and support strategies.
- Deliver targeted interventions during lessons and unstructured times.
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO.
- Encourage independence and confidence in pupils.
Required profile
- Recent experience working within a UK school.
- Previous SEND and/or SEMH experience.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent relationship‑building abilities.
- Genuine passion for inclusive education.
