About the role
We are seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Birmingham, supporting pupils with complex learning needs, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour. The role is Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am‑3:00 pm, and includes personal care duties.
Key responsibilities
- Support children with complex SEND needs throughout the school day.
- Provide personal care and assist with daily routines.
- Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
- Manage challenging behaviour using proven strategies.
Required profile
- Previous experience supporting children with complex SEND needs.
- Experience delivering personal care.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one at own cost.
