SEND Teaching Assistant – Learning Disabilities (Birmingham)

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistants to support children with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD and additional needs in primary schools across Birmingham. This full‑time, day‑to‑day supply role is term‑time only and offers the chance to make a real difference each day.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning and achieve EHCP outcomes.
• Assist with communication, independence and social development, using positive behaviour management strategies.
• Provide personal care when required and support pupils with autism, ADHD and other additional needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults in education, care, youth work or related fields.
• Experience with SEND or learning disabilities is highly desirable.
• Ability to work confidently without additional training.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred; otherwise candidate must obtain and fund their own DBS check.
