Senior Business Development Manager – Advanced Manufacturing

About the role

The West Midlands Growth Company is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead the attraction of high‑value investment into the region’s advanced manufacturing sector. You will act as the primary liaison with global and domestic manufacturers, promoting the West Midlands as a premier destination for growth and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute investment strategies across key advanced manufacturing sub‑sectors.
• Translate regional strengths into compelling value propositions for domestic and international investors.
• Identify, engage and secure high‑value investment opportunities using market insight and sector intelligence.
• Manage a pipeline of inward‑investment projects, delivering measurable outcomes such as job creation and capital investment.
• Maintain and grow relationships with strategic manufacturing businesses to support retention, expansion and long‑term growth.
• Build networks with industry intermediaries, trade bodies, consultants and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business development or investment attraction within manufacturing or related sectors.
• Strong track record of engaging senior stakeholders and closing high‑value deals.
• Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of economic development frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and influence cross‑functional teams.
