Senior Controls Framework Manager (contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Controls Framework Manager to lead the delivery of our Finance Risk & Controls Framework on a contract basis. You will work closely with senior finance stakeholders to design, implement and govern control standards across a global finance organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and build of the Finance Risk Universe, Risk Catalogue, control taxonomy and Risk & Control Matrix standards.
• Define control ownership models, risk assessment methodology and minimum control standards for finance processes worldwide.
• Establish the Finance Controls Committee, escalation framework, governance calendar and issue‑management process.
• Act as deputy to the Global Head of Finance Controls & Governance, providing strategic coverage and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Transition to a BAU Senior Controls Manager role in January 2027, maintaining the framework, reviewing policies and validating controls.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA fully qualified (or equivalent).
• 10‑12 years of experience in financial controls, SOX/internal controls frameworks or internal audit.
• Proven track record of leading a controls framework build or major remediation programme end‑to‑end.
• Experience in financial services (asset management, banking, insurance) and multi‑entity IFRS reporting environments.
• Desirable experience in fintech, PaaS or wealth‑management technology companies and green‑field controls function set‑up.

• SOX 404 compliance knowledge
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting processes
• Design of risk registers, control taxonomies and RCMs
• Development of minimum control standards and templates
