Senior Credit Adviser

About the role

Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator, is looking for a Senior Credit Adviser to join their London team on a 12‑month PAYE contract. The role sits within the Group Credit Risk function and provides operational credit risk support across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out creditworthiness assessments for new and existing counterparties, including customers, suppliers, joint‑venture partners and financial institutions.
• Analyse financial statements, market intelligence and credit ratings to determine appropriate credit limits, trading limits and security requirements.
• Monitor counterparty exposures, limit utilisation and portfolio risk trends, identifying emerging risks and proposing mitigation actions.
• Prepare regular credit risk reports for management with commentary on key movements and issues.
• Support scenario analysis, stress‑testing and the maintenance of the Group Credit Risk framework and policies.
• Act as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day credit queries, exceptions and potential breaches, escalating complex matters as needed.
