Senior Cyber Security Engineer – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading international business in Birmingham on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on protecting critical assets, managing vulnerabilities, and enhancing the organisation's security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability and exposure management using TenableOne or Qualys.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation.
• Implement risk‑management processes, identity‑access controls and DLP measures.
• Respond to Tier 3 security incidents and monitor threat intelligence feeds.
• Participate in penetration testing activities.
• Develop and maintain Microsoft Sentinel detections and SOAR playbooks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior cyber security engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of XDR solutions, particularly Palo Alto Cortex.
• Hands‑on expertise with Microsoft security stack (Defender, Azure AD, Purview, Sentinel, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
