Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Building Services

About the role

Our client, an award‑winning building services consultancy, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the electrical design of commercial and industrial projects. The role is based in Manchester with a hybrid working model (two days remote per week) and offers a clear progression route to associate or director level.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design for a diverse portfolio of projects from concept to completion.
• Produce detailed building services designs and technical specifications for LV power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, security and small power systems.
• Perform electrical calculations, cable sizing and equipment selection.
• Coordinate designs with mechanical engineers, architects and external design teams.
• Attend client, design and site meetings throughout project delivery.
• Mentor graduate and intermediate engineers.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical design for commercial, industrial, residential, retail, data centre or sports facility projects.
• Senior‑level expertise with the ability to lead design teams and manage client relationships.
• Willingness to contribute to the growth of the electrical design team.
