Senior Employment Associate (Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Employment Associate to join a top‑50 national law firm’s Birmingham office. The role offers a hybrid working model and a competitive salary of £80k‑£130k, dependent on experience. You will provide commercially focused advice across both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters, with a strong emphasis on corporate advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Manage complex Employment Tribunal claims, discrimination, whistleblowing and employee‑relations matters.
• Advise on contractual issues, policies, restructures and redundancies.
• Support clients on the employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, restructures, reorganisations and other strategic change projects.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to business development initiatives.
• Mentor junior colleagues and help shape the future direction of the practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in employment law.
• Proven track record in both contentious and non‑contentious employment matters.
• Extensive experience in corporate advisory and transactional support for business‑critical deals.
• Demonstrated ability to manage Employment Tribunal claims and complex employee‑relations cases.
• Confident client‑facing skills with a commercial mindset.
