Senior Full Stack Developer (Java)

About the role

TXP is expanding its internal engineering team and seeks a seasoned Senior Full Stack Developer with strong Java expertise. The role is UK‑based in the West Midlands, offering hybrid working and the possibility to obtain SC clearance. You will work across the full development lifecycle, influencing technical direction while delivering modern, high‑quality applications for internal users and external customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance applications using Java, React and associated frameworks.
• Participate in the complete SDLC – from design and coding to testing, defect resolution and deployment.
• Deliver scalable, high‑performance solutions for internal systems and customer projects.
• Contribute actively to Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Own delivery quality, functionality and timelines, ensuring alignment with agreed standards.
• Mentor junior developers and contractors, sharing best practices and raising team capability.
• Collaborate with colleagues, customers, partners and suppliers to shape technical standards and delivery guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience with Java (versions 1.6/1.8) and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency in Spring, Oracle PL/SQL and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.
• Hands‑on experience designing and delivering micro‑services architectures.
• Familiarity with build, containerisation and orchestration tools like Maven, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and test‑driven development (JUnit, Mockito, CI/CD).
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and prioritisation skills.
