Senior Health Care Support Worker – Internal Candidates Only

About the role

This permanent position is for a Senior Health Care Support Worker on the Redburn Rehabilitation Ward at Ayrshire Central Hospital. You will join a busy stroke rehabilitation team, delivering person‑centred care and supporting patients on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and support to achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes.
• Work on a rotational shift pattern covering day, night and weekend duties.
• Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Complete required training, including STARs modules and the Stroke Competency Toolkit.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.

Required profile

• SVQ Level 3 in a healthcare‑related subject or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team on a rehabilitation ward.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Awareness of relevant legislation, policies, standards and best practice guidelines.
• Evidence of personal development and willingness to undertake further training.
