Senior Human Resources Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Officer to join our busy, professional organisation in Manchester. This permanent, full‑time position is ideal for a CIPD‑qualified HR professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys providing strategic HR support.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert HR advice and guidance on a wide range of people matters.
• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and talent acquisition processes.
• Support managers with disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance and performance cases.
• Assist with change management, workforce planning and organisational development initiatives.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyse HR data, produce reports and recommend actions.
• Deliver training and guidance to managers.
• Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Supervise and support junior HR and recruitment staff.

Required profile

• CIPD qualification (or equivalent) and solid HR generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
• Proven experience handling complex employee‑relations casework.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work independently and support organisational change.
