Senior Lead Software Engineer – Cloud Platform (CFS CEA)

About the role

JPMorgan Chase’s Cloud Engineering Acceleration (Team XLR8) is looking for a senior lead engineer to design and deliver high‑impact public‑cloud solutions for the world’s largest bank. You will work across multiple tech stacks, champion engineering best practices, and help shape the platform culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement platform services and infrastructure across public‑cloud environments, focusing on architecture, integration patterns, and reliability.
• Own the full software development lifecycle, including CI/CD pipeline automation and local development tooling.
• Write, review, debug, and maintain secure production code, ensuring consistent standards even for AI‑generated code.
• Lead design reviews and architecture discussions to improve technical quality.
• Collaborate with partner teams to evaluate, adopt, and scale tooling, including agentic AI development practices.
• Drive operational excellence by automating resolution of recurring issues.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and raise standards for testing and code quality.
• Communicate technical decisions and business value to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with strong hands‑on delivery experience.
• Proven ability to own the SDLC, including CI/CD automation and development tooling.
• Excellent coding ability and a clear stance on quality and testing.
• Experience building cloud‑native solutions and delivering reliable platform services.
