Senior Merchandiser – Retail Stock Management

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Senior Merchandiser to lead merchandise planning and stock management for a medium‑sized retail organisation in Birmingham. The role combines data‑driven analysis with close collaboration across buying, supply and senior leadership to ensure the right products are available at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and manage stock levels to maintain optimal inventory availability.
• Analyse sales data to identify trends and improve product performance.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of stock.
• Prepare forecasts and budgets supporting business objectives.
• Monitor product performance and provide actionable insights.
• Work closely with the buying team to align product selection and strategy.
• Implement merchandising strategies to maximise profitability.
• Report key metrics to senior stakeholders.

• Proven experience in merchandise planning within the retail industry.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
