Senior Payroll Processor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Processor to manage a portfolio of client payrolls for a fully remote, permanent position. The successful candidate will take ownership of end‑to‑end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance while acting as the main point of contact for clients and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Process payrolls for multiple clients from start to finish, meeting strict deadlines.
• Handle client and accountant queries, providing clear and professional support.
• Manage pension processing, auto‑enrolment and other statutory requirements.
• Perform payroll checks, resolve discrepancies and own issues through to resolution.
• Maintain accurate records and follow compliance‑driven payroll processes.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships with proactive communication.
• Adapt to evolving payroll software and processes within a growing business.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of UK payroll experience.
• Background in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.
• Proven ability to manage client payrolls independently.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions and auto‑enrolment.
• Excellent attention to detail and a track record of payroll accuracy.
• Confident communicator who can explain payroll matters clearly.
• Proactive problem‑solver who works well independently.

Required skills

• BrightPay payroll software (essential).

What we offer

• Competitive salary £32,000‑£35,000 per year.
