Senior Performance and Risk Reporting Officer

About the role

The Senior Performance and Risk Reporting Officer will turn complex data into clear, insightful reports for the Executive Board, Council and senior stakeholders of the NMC. You will lead corporate performance reporting, explain trends, identify emerging risks and support evidence‑based decision‑making across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production of accurate, narrative‑driven corporate performance reports for senior audiences.
• Analyse datasets to uncover trends, risks and successes, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
• Quality‑assure performance information and KPIs from directorates, challenging data, methodologies and assumptions where needed.
• Collaborate with risk coordinators and other stakeholders to link performance intelligence with enterprise‑wide risk management.
• Support the corporate business planning process by coordinating contributions and identifying appropriate measures of progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience monitoring, analysing and describing business performance against strategic objectives.
• Strong report‑writing ability with a talent for creating clear, narrative‑focused documents for senior leaders.
• Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to question data, methodologies and assumptions.
• Effective communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with a collaborative approach.

Required skills

• Advanced data analysis and visualisation capabilities.
• Experience designing and using measurement frameworks, including KPIs and outcome indicators.
