Senior Planner (MEP)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner with a construction or MEP background to take ownership of project programmes for a leading engineering business. You will play a pivotal role in delivering large‑scale MEP engineering projects across the UK, working within a fast‑growing building services company that has been operating since 1963.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed MEP project programmes from mobilisation through to completion.
• Monitor progress against milestones, identify risks and devise recovery plans to keep projects on schedule.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors and clients to coordinate activities and improve programme performance.
• Produce progress reports, look‑ahead schedules and recovery plans.
• Analyse sequencing requirements and resource needs to ensure efficient delivery of MEP installations.
• Support planning of complex building‑services projects across commercial, healthcare, education, life‑sciences, heritage, hospitality and residential sectors.
• Work Monday‑Thursday 08:00‑17:00 with an early finish at 15:30 on Fridays.

Required profile

• Planner or similar role with experience developing and managing construction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of MEP project planning processes.
• Ability to commute to Manchester.
