Senior Planner/Planning Manager – M&E/Engineering & Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join a leading engineering contractor delivering major HS2, rail, utilities and infrastructure programmes across the UK. You will play a pivotal role in planning and delivering high‑value engineering projects from tender through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cost‑ and resource‑loaded project programmes using Primavera P6.
• Produce regular programme updates, progress reports and Earned Value Analysis (EVA) including SPI and CPI metrics.
• Carry out delay analysis, Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and support commercial teams with risk and opportunity reporting.
• Assist with tender submissions, project planning and on‑site programme reviews.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers and commercial teams to keep projects on track.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of planning experience on major infrastructure, rail, utilities or civil engineering projects.
• Background in Mechanical or Electrical engineering (HNC, NVQ or equivalent preferred).
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and project controls.
• Proactive, collaborative and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

• Primavera P6 (cost and resource loading).
• Earned Value Analysis (EVA), SPI and CPI reporting.
• Delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) submissions.
• NEC contract administration.
