Senior Project Manager - Major Projects

About the role

This role is an exciting opportunity to lead delivery of major infrastructure projects, including new bridges over waterways and a railway, to help create an ambitious, sustainable and vibrant new community of 8,500 homes at the Gilston Park Estate in East Hertfordshire. You will be responsible for delivering major construction and infrastructure projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver major construction and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Lead strategic planning, procurement and financial oversight.
• Manage internal and external multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve value for money.
• Drive approvals, contract administration and change control.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide clear progress reporting.

Required profile

• Major infrastructure experience in a Senior Project Manager or Project Manager role.
• Track record of delivering multiple projects such as bridges, highways, utilities, drainage and civils.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contract management (NEC, JCT, ICC) and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Commitment to driving social value and creating lasting community benefits.
