Senior QA Automation Engineer

About the role

Acorn Insurance is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead quality assurance for its customer‑facing motor insurance product. You will own the squad’s test automation roadmap, drive automation across web and mobile platforms, and mentor junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright (web) and Maestro (mobile).
• Define and implement automation framework architecture aligned with squad and QA standards.
• Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Lead mobile automation initiatives, managing testing on iOS and Android via BrowserStack, TestFlight and Intune.
• Own end‑to‑end quality for squad deliverables, including functional, regression, integration and cross‑browser testing.
• Mentor junior QA members, conduct code reviews and track quality metrics such as defect leakage and automation coverage.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Playwright and Maestro for web and mobile test automation.
• Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in cross‑functional squads and mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to define and track quality metrics and drive process improvements.
