Senior Sales Engineer – Fixturing, Tooling & Prototypes

About the role

The Senior Sales Engineer will drive new business for the tooling and fixturing division of an established engineering and manufacturing group. Based in Birmingham, the role combines technical sales, bid support and client relationship management across sectors such as automotive and motorsport.

Key responsibilities

• Generate new sales growth using existing contacts and a proactive approach.
• Support estimating and bid preparation alongside engineering and operations teams.
• Lead commercial negotiations and secure new contracts.
• Maintain and develop client relationships to create future opportunities.
• Represent the company at trade shows and industry events.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and customer queries, ensuring commercial processes are fit for purpose.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in engineering (or equivalent).
• Ability to discuss and deliver engineering solutions directly with customers.
• Extensive experience selling engineered solutions in robotics, automation, sub‑contract machining or fixturing.
• Broad manufacturing background with knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly and welding.
• Proven negotiation skills and strong influencing and communication abilities.
• Track record of building long‑term business relationships.
• Based in the Midlands and comfortable with hybrid/field‑based work.
