Senior Security Engineer – Palo Alto XSIAM (Hybrid, London)

About the role

This 12‑month contract role is for a Senior Security Engineer working on a high‑profile public sector programme in London. The position is hybrid, requiring two days per week onsite, and is inside IR35. You will lead the implementation and management of Palo Alto Networks XSIAM to enhance the organisation's threat detection and response capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and configure the Palo Alto Networks XSIAM security platform.
• Develop and maintain security policies, rules, and monitoring capabilities.
• Improve threat detection, incident response, and security automation.
• Investigate security alerts and support incident‑response activities.
• Integrate security tools and optimise operational workflows.
• Provide technical guidance to security and IT teams.
• Produce security reports and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Networks XSIAM or a comparable security platform.
• Deep knowledge of threat detection, monitoring and incident response.
• Proven ability to integrate security tooling and automate processes.
• Experience working in complex, regulated or government environments.
• Active SC (Security Check) clearance.
