Senior Tech Lead, Enterprise AI Products (Contract)

About the role

This contract position is with a major international aviation group that is building a brand‑new AI engineering capability to transform maintenance and supply‑chain operations. The team is greenfield, with a roadmap of seven internal AI products, the first being an LLM‑powered contract intelligence platform delivering significant cost savings.

Key responsibilities

• Design large‑scale agentic AI architectures, including LLM document processing, structured extraction, RAG and invoice‑to‑contract matching.
• Own low‑level design decisions such as API design, data models and service boundaries.
• Set and drive engineering standards, security practices, pen‑testing and SDLC ownership.
• Collaborate with squads in London and Barcelona, white‑boarding solutions with senior business stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and squad tech leads on architectural decisions.
• Shape MLOps pipelines, CI/CD and generative‑AI abstraction layers.
• Model cost, feasibility and risk of different LLMs and implementation approaches.

Required profile

• 15+ years of enterprise software engineering experience, preferably in product‑focused organisations.
• Proven track record of designing systems from scratch and making architectural decisions across multiple teams.
• Hands‑on experience delivering agentic AI in production, ideally with LangGraph or LangChain.
• Deep expertise in Python and FastAPI, and large‑scale AWS architecture.
• Full‑stack understanding across front‑end, back‑end, ML/AI and data layers.
• Ability to challenge engineering decisions at code level while operating at architecture level.
• Experience in aviation, logistics or supply‑chain domains is a plus.
