Service Engineer – Diesel Generators

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join a leading diesel generator manufacturer. The role is home‑based with field work across the UK, preferably based in the Midlands, and involves delivering first‑class technical support to customers nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair diesel generator sets.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Carry out planned maintenance and respond to breakdowns.
• Perform pre‑delivery inspections and warranty work.
• Produce detailed service reports and keep accurate records.
• Provide on‑site technical support to customers.
• Travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.

Required profile

• Proven experience servicing diesel generators.
• Recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent).
• Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer service.
• Full UK driving licence.
