SHE Manager – Environment (Hybrid, London)

About the role

The SHE Manager – Environment will lead SGN’s environmental compliance across its service area. Working in a hybrid model, you will support the company’s commitment to safety, warmth and comfort while ensuring adherence to environmental legislation and ISO 14001 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and company standards.
• Provide environmental advice, support permit applications and contribute to the Compliance & Assurance programme.
• Manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO 14001, supporting external audits and driving continuous improvement.
• Monitor environmental performance, conduct site inspections, audits and waste‑management activities.
• Investigate environmental incidents, identify root causes and implement improvement actions.
• Develop and share environmental communications, guidance and support the Environmental Action Plan.

Required profile

• A qualification in an environmental discipline (diploma or degree) or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience in environmental compliance, governance, auditing or management systems.
• Good knowledge of environmental legislation, regulatory compliance and safety management principles.
• Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
