Shift Electrical Engineer – 12‑hour Rotating Shifts

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Shift Electrical Engineer to join our facilities and infrastructure maintenance team. You will be responsible for planned preventative and reactive maintenance of commercial and aviation electrical systems, ensuring high uptime and compliance in a secure airport environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fault diagnostics, routine inspections and reactive repairs on single‑phase and three‑phase power systems, lighting, control panels, motors, distribution boards and emergency systems.
• Respond quickly to critical electrical breakdowns to minimise operational impact across airport facilities.
• Manage workflow and complete job records using the on‑site CMMS or handheld PDA devices.
• Safely isolate electrical systems, issue Permits to Work and produce Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) in line with airport and industry safety standards.
• Support multidisciplinary maintenance teams with cross‑functional building services and mechanical checks when required.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or C&G 2360 / 2330 / 2365 equivalent).
• BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

Required skills

• Fault diagnostics on electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of single‑phase and three‑phase power systems.
• Experience with lighting, control panels, motors and distribution boards.
• Proficiency in using CMMS and handheld PDA devices for job recording.
• Ability to safely isolate systems and manage Permits to Work, RAMS and risk assessments.
