About the role
The Social Work Assistant supports children, young people and families by delivering direct assistance under the guidance of a qualified Social Worker. This role involves facilitating appointments, educational activities, health assessments and other essential engagements to promote wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake direct work with children, young people and families as directed by a Social Worker.
- Support attendance at appointments, education, health assessments and other identified activities.
- Supervise family time/contact sessions and provide factual observations and recordings.
- Conduct welfare checks, home visits and wellbeing visits where appropriate.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, young people and their families.
Required profile
- Experience working as a Social Work Assistant.
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Experience within a local authority setting.
