About the role
To provide advocacy, advisory and drafting services to Keoghs LLP. Training and peer review will be provided by senior team members. The role is based in the Liverpool office with occasional travel to Manchester, Bolton and the courts as required.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake advocacy, drafting and advisory work, including complex/high‑value pleadings, interlocutory hearings, fast‑track and multi‑track trials, CCMCs, JSMs, sanctions and recoveries.
- Maintain and develop high‑level technical ability across Keoghs core practice areas and command higher hourly rates and premium brief fees.
- Manage a sub‑team or assist in managing the main team, providing direct supervision and mentoring of Band 1 and 2 advocates.
- Deliver advocacy and litigation training and updates for fee earners.
- Proactively develop client‑facing and product development tasks and market the in‑house advocacy team.
Required profile
- Full practising certificate (Barrister) or Higher Rights of Audience (Solicitor).
- 10 + years post‑qualification experience (PQE) or call.
- Proven technical ability and track record as an advocate in at least three of: insurance fraud, general personal injury, EL/PL, large loss, costs, professional negligence.
