Solicitor – Military Claims Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join Cordus Law’s specialist team that assists veterans and active‑duty service members with compensation claims. The role involves managing a portfolio of military and related claims from pre‑litigation through to court representation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of military claims, handling correspondence with clients, insurers, other solicitors and liaising with counsel and experts.
• Analyse evidence, develop case strategies that balance technical and commercial considerations and advise clients.
• Prepare witness statements, review evidence and represent clients in court.
• Support and supervise junior fee‑earners and administrative staff as required.
• Maintain high professional standards and ensure compliance with SRA policies and procedures.
• Stay up‑to‑date with relevant law and practice developments.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a valid practising certificate (SRA) or CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ).
• 2–5 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in military claims, industrial disease or post‑litigation personal injury, employer’s liability or product liability work.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and client‑care abilities.
• Flexibility to work outside normal office hours when needed.

Required skills

• Proficient with case‑management software, ideally Proclaim.
