Special Educational Needs Coordinator – Primary School, Haringey

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join a welcoming primary school in Haringey, North London. The role starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to shape inclusive practice and improve outcomes for pupils with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the school's SEND provision and develop inclusive strategies.
• Manage EHCP reviews, annual reviews and all SEND documentation.
• Support teachers with tailored interventions and teaching strategies.
• Liaise with parents, external agencies and local authority services.
• Monitor pupil progress and implement effective support plans.
• Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience as a SENCo or a teacher holding the National Award for SEN Coordination.
• Proactive, collaborative and committed to inclusive education.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience managing EHCP and annual reviews.
• Ability to develop and implement SEND strategies.
• Strong communication and partnership skills with staff, families and agencies.
