About the role

A well‑established secondary school in the West Midlands is seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join its leadership team from September. This role will shape and develop SEND provision, ensuring every student receives the support needed to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the school's SEND strategy and provision.
• Oversee EHCPs, annual reviews and all statutory processes.
• Coordinate interventions and monitor progress of SEND students.
• Support and develop staff through training, guidance and best practice.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate SEND records and provision mapping.
• Contribute to whole‑school improvement and inclusive learning initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant SENCO qualification (or working towards it).
• Previous experience leading SEND provision within a secondary school.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student success.
