Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. You will work closely with pupils across the primary years, providing both one‑to‑one and group support to help them thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Support groups of SEN pupils, delivering tailored assistance in line with individual needs.
• Utilise a thorough understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to adapt learning activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small‑group support, differentiating tasks as required.
• Encourage social, emotional and cognitive development through engaging activities.

Required profile

• Prior experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs.
• Confidence in working with children across all primary year groups.
• Willingness to collaborate as part of a dedicated school team.
