About the role
The Specialist, BI Developer will build, implement, continuously improve, support and analyse Business Intelligence solutions for Save the Children International. Working closely with global TDIT team members, business stakeholders and product owners, the role translates analytic requirements into robust BI solutions using best‑practice methodologies.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive BI solutions that align with organisational goals and stakeholder requirements.
- Estimate, plan and deliver tasks within agreed timeframes, following project and change‑request delivery methods.
- Develop proof‑of‑concepts to foster innovation in BI approaches.
- Analyse and continuously improve BI systems, ensuring efficiency, robustness and data‑driven decision support.
- Collaborate with IT teams (testing, release management, infrastructure, architecture) to manage changes to the BI environment.
- Provide regular KPI data and other reporting services to program operations, supply chain and finance teams.
- Identify and escalate technical risks, maintain and support existing BI solutions, and own key BI infrastructure components such as SQL high‑availability and backup planning.
Required profile
- Proven experience with SQL Server databases, T‑SQL scripting, stored procedures and ad‑hoc queries.
- Ability to translate non‑technical requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to non‑experts.
- Self‑motivated, enthusiastic problem‑solver with cultural awareness and experience delivering solutions internationally.
- Keen interest in learning new BI technologies.
