Staff Nurse – Oncology (Band 5)

About the role

The Christie is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our oncology outpatient department on the ground floor. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team delivering high‑quality care to cancer patients while supporting our Bloods Closer to Home service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to oncology patients in the outpatient area.
• Perform clinical procedures such as venepuncture, cannulation and ECG recordings.
• Respond to emergency admissions and deliver urgent, lifesaving treatment when required.
• Accurately record clinical observations and medication administration in patient notes.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic environment and ensure compliance with hospital policies and NMC guidelines.
• Support and mentor junior staff members as needed.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (newly qualified or experienced) with an interest in oncology.
• Valid UK driver’s licence and business insurance for outreach site visits.
• Commitment to patient‑centred care and ability to work flexibly within a busy outpatient setting.
