Staff+ Software Engineer, Platform Connectivity

About the role

Anthropic is looking for an experienced software engineer to join its Connectivity team, which builds the infrastructure that lets Claude interact safely with external systems. The role is based in London and works closely with partner teams across the company to deliver reliable, enterprise‑grade connectivity services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the MCP proxy and OAuth/token management systems that authenticate external tool calls.
• Own reliability targets, on‑call rotation, incident response, and post‑mortem analysis for shared connectivity infrastructure.
• Develop admin controls and permission models that enable enterprise IT teams to govern agent actions.
• Contribute to the open‑source MCP specification and maintain the official Python and TypeScript SDKs.
• Scope and lead multi‑month projects, align cross‑functional stakeholders, and make architectural decisions that scale Anthropic’s platform.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a backend or platform engineer building large‑scale services.
• Product‑focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership from design through deployment and operations.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into concrete, shipped solutions.
• Comfort working in a fast‑growing, cross‑regional team.
