Strategic Workforce Planning Lead

About the role

This is an exciting new opportunity to join Kier’s people team as a Strategic Workforce Planning Lead. The role is UK‑wide with flexible home working and occasional travel to the Rushden and London offices as well as other sites. Working 37.5 hours per week, you will have a huge impact on operational site teams and help shape the future workforce for an £11.6bn order book.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead the strategic workforce planning framework, analysing trends and forecasting future needs.
• Identify future skills, skills gaps, talent risks and critical roles across the organisation.
• Build workforce planning dashboards and use data to provide meaningful insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with talent acquisition, learning & development and operational teams to create actionable plans.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, facilitating planning sessions and building strong partnerships.

Required profile

• Previous experience in strategic workforce planning.
• Confidence working with data, modelling, forecasting and scenario planning.
• Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and translate complex information into clear, actionable insights.
• Good understanding of talent trends, labour markets and workforce dynamics.
• Proactive, curious and future‑focused with strong problem‑solving skills.
