Structural Engineer – Residential & Commercial Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our growing design practice in Birmingham. You will work closely with designers, clients and contractors to deliver practical, cost‑effective structural solutions across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects.

Key responsibilities

• Produce structural calculations, reports and technical designs.
• Support projects from concept through to completion.
• Collaborate with designers, clients and contractors to develop practical solutions.
• Carry out site visits and provide technical guidance throughout the build process.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the structural engineering capability within the business.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering.
• Experience on residential projects (extensions, refurbishments, new builds); commercial experience advantageous.
• Degree qualified in structural engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural design software such as Tedds, Robot, STAAD or SAP2000.
