Supervising Social Worker (Fostering)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Registered Social Worker to lead a team of foster carers in Manchester. In this supervisory position you will ensure high‑quality care for children and young people while supporting carers to thrive in their roles.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a caseload of 12 foster carers, delivering guidance and support visits.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and child safeguarding procedures.
• Collaborate with local authorities to keep care, placement and pathway plans up to date.
• Facilitate foster‑carer reviews, identify training needs and contribute to support‑group workshops.
• Maintain accurate, GDPR‑compliant case records and essential documentation.
• Participate in the out‑of‑hours support rota to provide continuous coverage.

Required profile

• Qualified and registered Social Worker.
• Proven experience in fostering, safeguarding and complex care planning.
• Strong communication and analytical abilities.
• Commitment to professional development and high standards of documentation.
• Ability to manage caseloads while upholding rigorous safeguarding standards.

Required skills

• GDPR compliance knowledge.
