Supply and Demand Planner

About the role

As a Supply and Demand Planner based in Birmingham, you will be responsible for analysing sales, stock and intake data to forecast demand and ensure the right products are available at the right time. You will work closely with suppliers, the distribution centre and the Category Management team to optimise the supply chain and support new product launches, promotions and seasonal changes.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyse sales, stock and intake data to forecast demand and raise purchase orders for multiple suppliers.
  • Manage order books to achieve timely deliveries and improve OTIF performance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve service levels.
  • Monitor and manage stock levels across stores and the distribution centre against budgets and availability targets.
  • Communicate issues, recommend actions and maintain full visibility for stores and customers.
  • Create and manage forecasting, purchasing and allocation plans for product launches and promotions.
  • Identify slow‑moving or overstocked lines and propose actions to improve stock health.
  • Support weekly trade meetings with insights and recommendations.
  • Respond to unexpected supply issues or sales trends with timely actions.
  • Maintain system data, policies and parameters to ensure accurate purchase orders.
  • Run weekly and monthly KPI reports for senior management.

Required profile

  • Strong analytical ability to interpret sales and inventory data.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, internal teams and stores.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to supply disruptions.
