Supply Chain Manager – Motor (Hybrid)

About the role

Southam Selections is seeking a Supply Chain Manager – Motor to oversee fleet operations for a fast‑growing accident management business. Working from Birmingham Business Park in a hybrid model, you will manage relationships with vehicle hire providers and ensure the right vehicles are available when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vehicle hire providers, acting as the main point of contact.
• Coordinate vehicle orders, deliveries, collections, swaps and monitor availability against operational demand.
• Track supplier performance, KPIs and service levels, resolving issues promptly.
• Review hire charges and invoices for accuracy and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support procurement activities, contract renewals and supplier onboarding/off‑boarding.
• Monitor fleet utilisation, downtime and activity, escalating problems as required.
• Maintain accurate fleet records, documentation and supplier information.
• Ensure suppliers meet compliance requirements such as insurance, licensing and safety standards.
• Manage incident reporting for hire vehicles and keep audit‑ready records.
• Produce regular reports on performance, costs, trends and supplier activity.
• Keep fleet systems and databases up‑to‑date and provide insights for efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Experience in fleet management, vehicle hire, logistics or supply chain coordination.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation abilities.
• Good understanding of vehicle hire agreements and commercial terms.
• Proven ability to analyse costs and drive savings.
• Excellent organisation, communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Comfortable handling multiple suppliers and priorities simultaneously.
